OUR STORY
First and foremost, we are in need of your prayers for God’s guidance as we pursue plans to purchase this church.
Greetings, my dear brothers & sisters in Christ,As many of you know, the congregation of St. Peter & St. Andrew Coptic Orthodox Church in Stamford, Connecticut has rented its current place of worship from the Zion Lutheran Church since 2012. This beautiful church was built in 1925, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. We are now blessed with the opportunity to purchase this church, and seek your help. First and foremost, we are in need of your prayers for God’s guidance as we pursue plans to purchase this church. We would also ask that you consider contributing to the fund reserved for its purchase. The church property includes not only the historic church itself, but several rooms for Sunday School classes, a fellowship hall including a full commercial kitchen, a full-size gym with a theater stage, and a nursery school. St. Peter & St. Andrew has expanded its services tremendously since moving to these premises. As the Stamford-area Coptic community has grown, so too have our outreach programs, which offer valuable services to the local community and strive to display the spirit of service and unconditional love epitomized by our Lord Himself. The chance to purchase our current home will only advance these services, and give our community the ability to further serve the local community, heeding our Lord Jesus Christ’s instruction to “make disciples of all the nations.” (Matthew 28:19)
Currently the asking price is $3.176 million, and we are raising $953,000 for the down payment by the end of this year, December 31, 2017. God the Almighty is "able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3: 20), and so we invite you to be a “joyful giver” and partake in this blessing with us as we endeavor to purchase our Stamford home. “The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore, we His servants will arise and build” (Nehemiah 2:20).
As always, please remember the Diocese, its congregations, services and this project in your prayers.
